Route 107. The route where the east coast of the small island community of Dewford meets the open sea. Trainers who haven't yet the means to freely travel the sea skate past this area on their way from Dewford to Slateport.

The sea was flanked on either side by a string of rocky platforms, Dewford behind it, and Slateport ahead. Trainers young and old who had a love for the sea could be seen either staying afloat under their own power or flotation devices, having pitched battles with all manner of sea-creatures.

Casey Maverick found himself there, atop a rocky outcropping. He had a phone at arm's length away as he slowly undressed, taking pictures the entire time. He'd have to dm the moderators of the platforms he was on to see what'd get him banned, but keeping the dutch angle shot of his weird lanky swimmer body in navy-colored neoprene trunks was non-negotiable. He dropped a pokeball and his Skarmory dutifully carried away everything, save for one pokeball.

He then dropped the blue and yellow ball on the rocks, and dove in the water. As much of an attention-seeker as he was, he needed a break. He whistled, and invited the Mantyke to chase him. Inadvertently, he'd kicked the water too hard, producing not only a loud smack like a fist on drywall but also a jet of water that'd fly at another nearby swimmer; a muscular lad who seemed nice enough, who goes by @danton .

TL;DR: Casey inadvertently does a faux-pas on the sea, this supposedly neutral ground.

Danton was out on route 107 once more, charting the area for good diving spots. Dot swam beside him and furiously kicked her tail to keep up with her trainer. Only sand, coral, and the occasional seashell, gleaming like opal, greeted the pair. Danton came up for air and clung to the side of searock. This shallow, populated spot meant barely anything laid on the seafloor.[break][break]

After a few moments, Danton stood, stretched, and reared back, ready to dive back in. He was proud of his near-perfect form. That's why, when an aimless spritz of water threw him slightly off balance, Danton tore his way back up to the surface. His pride was deeply hurt. A bobbing mat of red hair was his only clue.[break][break]

His massive paws ripped at the waves and sent him barreling back underwater. Without many others around, it was easy to spot his target, though the pink hair and formed, blue asscheeks helped too. Splashing strangers..Coward. Danton pointed his fingers like a gun, aiming down the sight of his arm, and winked at Dot. She squealed in delight before letting loose a weak dragon pulse.

Suddenly, the water rippled, folding around Horsea's distended snout. A compressed wave pushed against the gentle current, striking Casey from behind. He was spun around and sent flying back towards a rocky outcropping, like Goku being punched real hard. He landed with a soft thud, the waves of which gently reverberated back out. Not just the bones in his back, but the muscles stung too. He'd have to sit here with his feet planted on a little bump, until he could muster the strength to either scale the rock, or hail Skarmory back to pick him up.

He grimaced, looking around at the water. Were they under attack? Mantyke didn't seem to notice. This close to the surface, the sun seemed to give the water a light blue hue, against which Danton's mess of dark hair stood out. He clenched his fists, reclining against the rocks. Could it be?

He was then interrupted by the presence of Piplup, in a climate it was unsuited for. He whistled, trying to call Mantyke. It zeroed in on the small bird, instead of their intruder. "This isn't over. Anyways... Mantyke, use Takedown! Anything more will knock it out, anything less and we'll be here all day!" He called, followed by Mantyke careening into Piplup, bowling it over and sending it spinning up towards the surface. It responded with Bubble Beam, an effort that didn't connect due to Mantyke's Water Absorb. Casey then reached an arm back over his head and felt around, feeling the familiar smooth metal of a pokeball sitting out on the ledge. It felt sun-baked from being left behind by whoever was here last, and seared his fingers to touch like the coil on an electric stove. He flung it at Piplup, and the effort sent him back into the water, floating on his back.

Note: Yeah, he'd be one of those sickos who's too old to be on the platform, lip synching to Bring Me The Horizon and Bladee. He'd get in fights with people who point at blocks of text.
